Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in the Physiotherapy Inpatients Mental Health Team at St Georges Park Morpeth. You will work clinically in this area and provide leadership and operational management to the team. You will also work closely with other members of the MDT, leads of other teams and senior members of the CBU. There will also be the opportunity to be part of the wider network of physiotherapy across the trust.
You will need to be a Chartered and HCPC Registered Physiotherapist with proven experience of working with people with complex physical and mental health needs, within an inpatient setting. You will have good knowledge and experience of leadership & be highly motivated to develop the team. You need to have robust core clinical skills and experience to ensure safe & effective service delivery of a wide range of conditions from all areas of physiotherapy.
Excellent communication skills are essential working in this clinical area & to enhance and develop working relations within the services. You will need to have the ability to problem solve and be able to respond flexibly to the changing needs of the service.
The role brings an exciting opportunity working as clinical lead in an established physiotherapy team, being involved with wider MDT working, staff and service user education and being an integral part of strategic planning & management.
Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for the day to day co-ordination of work within the physiotherapy service and attend all relevant governance business meetings.
2. Appraisal, supervision and line management of staff team.
3. Manage and provide ongoing advanced physiotherapy assessment and treatment using evidence based practice.
4. To provide leadership and work alongside the multidisciplinary teams.
Person specification
Education and Qualification
* Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
* State registration with HCPC.
* Further relevant post graduate training relevant to the post.
* Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/CPD e.g. MSc, post graduate diploma.
* Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Knowledge and Experience
* Proven clinical experience of working with service users, family and carers in delivery of treatment plans.
* Multi-disciplinary team work advanced knowledge and experience of a wide range of conditions and physiotherapy approaches.
* Member of relevant clinical CSP interest group.
Skills and Competencies
* Advanced level of physiotherapy clinical knowledge and skill in the relevant field.
* Advanced level of skills in a range of appropriate standardised and informal assessments and treatment.
* Forward and innovative thinking.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Self-directed learning.
* Evidence of leading change within a team.
