We have a new opportunity to be part of the IT team in the role of IT Infrastructure Engineer with a solid Microsoft Azure cloud skillset.
The successful Engineer will be part of a cross-functional team which looks after all operational elements of infrastructure ranging from firewalls, networking and monitoring, through to cloud computing, DevOps and AV/telephony. This position is expected to augment the existing team by championing Microsoft Azure Cloud solutions to drive our approach in modernising and consolidating IT infrastructure, automating workloads and pursuing next-generation innovation.
We are looking for expertise in the strategy, design, implementation and operation of various cloud-based solutions, as well as understanding how this fits-in with our hybrid environment. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of various infrastructure technologies, platforms and applications and an ability to configure them to help our business become more secure and efficient.
You will be a strong team player, supporting team members with knowledge transfer and collectively working to ensure your team provides a seamless service to our end users. Training and Qualifications are also on offer to accompany the role.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
* A good amount of experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions in Azure.
* Experience of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation with a strong preference for Bicep.
* Experience in Microsoft Fabric and Dynamics 365 would be a distinct advantage.
* Ability to develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy Azure applications, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modelling, and advanced analytics.
* Willingness to participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance.
* Experience with troubleshooting incidents, identifying root causes, fixing and documenting problems, and implementing preventive measures.
* Willingness to educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary.
* Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
* Ability to implement, support, and maintain a broad range of cloud-based infrastructure including, IaaS compute, PaaS, storage platforms (especially Netapp), VDI, and associated interconnectivity, owning the current and future state to provide secure, high performing, scalable services to the business.
* Experience in supporting and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux server workloads, virtual machines, clusters, and services.
* Experience with infrastructure security, system protection and continuity (backup/restore/DR).
* Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and application specialists.
* A willingness to own issues and learning to resolve them is equally important.
This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
