The Bridge Project works in partnership with Project 6 and Humankind and under this umbrella New Vision Bradford was launched on 1 April 2023. The partnership delivers an adult substance misuse service for the Bradford and Craven District, aiming to help people tackle the misuse of alcohol and drugs and reduce risk taking behaviours through dedicated prevention, intervention, and support.
We are now looking for a Concerned Other Worker and would love to hear from you if you believe you have the skills to carry out this role. It is a permanent, part-time role based across all service site locations in Bradford, therefore it is essential that you have a driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
This role will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering support to individuals who may be affected by someone else’s substance misuse. Depending on the needs of the individual you will have brief interventions, assess needs and risk including safeguarding, provide a structured programme of individual support and onward referral and exit planning. This is a key role and the postholder will have the skills to deal effectively with concerned others of varying abilities who on occasion may be distressed. It is crucial that you have good listening and communication skills in order to provide information and practical/emotional support to concerned others, in person and on the telephone.
In order to be considered for this role you will need 2 years’ full-time experience of working within social and/or a health care setting, managing a caseload.
We are looking for someone who is committed and passionate in this field of work and what we do, with a positive and engaging approach. You will be highly organised with the ability to manage your time effectively, self-generating and responding to internal referrals to ensure a high-quality service is maintained, whilst applying your knowledge of the issues affecting concerned others or individuals with substance misuse issues. A good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services and good practice is desirable.
There is an element of flexibility around working hours required by the postholder. A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the post.
In return we can offer a competitive salary, 4% pension contribution, excellent annual leave entitlement, employee assistance scheme, life insurance and a programme of mindfulness activities for staff. The Bridge Project is a Mindful Employer.
