JB391: Junior Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of one of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Junior Quantity Surveyor:
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for roofing projects.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for various roofing systems and materials.
Evaluate tender documents, including bills of quantities and specifications.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate project costing and financial reporting.
Monitor project expenditures and track variations to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
Conduct site visits to assess work progress and verify quantities for payment applications.
Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, and financial transactions.
Participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms.
Support the commercial manager in preparing monthly reports and forecasts.
Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and regulations related to roofing construction.
Skills and Qualifications for the Junior Quantity Surveyor:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Internship or relevant experience in Quantity Surveying or Construction Cost Management is preferred.
Basic understanding of construction methods and materials, specifically in roofing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with Aconex and field view but training will be provided.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
