Our client is a world-leading manufacturer of bespoke mechanical components for applications in numerous industrial sectors including nuclear, power, oil & gas, food, process, defence, steel, chemical, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical. Established for many years with a turnover of more than £200 million globally, they are renowned for their manufacturing capabilities, solving problems, and producing components that work to the highest tolerances.
You will have the capability of selling bespoke design in engineering components into critical industries like oil and gas, nuclear, power, and food and beverage markets in Scotland. They are looking to hire a passionate and enthusiastic Strategic Key Account Manager focused on selling complex technical solutions into the oil and gas industry. They seek a sophisticated solutions-led sales professional, open to candidates from various sectors who possess the right attitude, behaviours, and commercial acumen.
This is an opportunity for a tenacious and dynamic technical sales and major account professional to work with a major global manufacturer. Their bespoke components are utilized in critical engineering environments, and you will take full responsibility for all large oil and gas customers across the Scotland region.
Working with regional sales and account teams, you will segment and penetrate some of the world’s largest oil and gas, nuclear, and power key accounts and associated OEM customers. As Key Account Manager, you will play a lead role in the company’s strategic growth plans in all key markets. You will support the General Sales Manager to win sales throughout project-driven customers and OEM customers. We are looking for an honest, hard-working, and technically capable sales/major account professional who can spearhead new client acquisition. You will be able to solution sell technical products and solutions, working closely with customers to develop the right product for the correct application in critical environments.
The Candidate:
* Knowledge, experience, and a keen interest in manufacturing, components, engineering, technical solutions, and strategic key account management.
* Ideally understand all aspects of the oil and gas market, upstream and downstream, OEMs, and Capex projects.
* A strong strategic thinker with exceptional business development, relationship building, and key account management skills.
* Excellent communication skills, able to communicate and sell to a wide variety of levels.
* Proven track record of business-to-business sales; experience of medium to long cycle selling would be advantageous.
* Mechanical Engineering background (degree, apprenticeship, or experience of selling mechanical components).
* Familiarity with products such as seals, gaskets, valves, pumps, rotating equipment, etc.
* Product training will be provided.
* Able to develop new business opportunities with an eye for upselling/cross-selling.
* Ability to understand customer spend potential and build relationships within key accounts to create strategic plans for growth.
