We're looking for an Effluent Technician to join the team in Fochabers.
The successful candidate would join the engineering team working on a shift basis covering part of the weekend. Responsibilities would include the safe operation and frontline maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant ensuring compliance to external standards, taking ownership and responsibility for the equipment's performance whilst supporting the Engineering team members in carrying out allocated work.
Position Summary:
Baxter’s are recruiting for an Effluent Plant Operator to join the team. The successful candidate would join the engineering team working on a shift basis covering part of the weekend. The successful Candidate will be responsible for safe operation and frontline maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant ensuring compliance to external standards.
Main purpose of the role:
* To ensure safe and consistent operation of the wastewater treatment plant.
* Ensure all frontline maintenance is carried out on all plant and services.
* Take ownership and responsibility for the equipment’s performance.
* To provide support to the Engineering team members in a proactive manner in carrying out allocated work where required.
* To identify and implement continuous improvement activities across the area to increase equipment efficiency and availability.
* Operations: Safe and effective operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
* Preventive Maintenance: Performing regular inspections of equipment and systems to ensure they’re in good working condition and implementing maintenance plans to prevent equipment breakdowns ensuring efficient and effective operation of the plant. Communication with local waste carriers to ensure any waste is removed in a timely manner to avoid disruption to treatment process. Troubleshoot frontline issues and escalate to Engineer when required.
* Compliance: Ensuring all equipment and procedures comply with any external regulations. Daily water sampling and work with internal Laboratory to maintain compliance to standards.
* Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities within the CMMS including any repairs, replacements, and inspections and use of diaries where appropriate.
* Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluating and improving processes and procedures.

Qualifications and training required:
Engineering Qualifications: Beneficial but not required would be any Engineering apprenticeship or relevant certifications such as City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, or other engineering fields.
Previous Experience Required: Previous experience with operating or maintaining Effluent Treatment process preferred. Manufacturing specific experience would be beneficial.
