Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Manager to oversee our catering operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts and restaurant management, with a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to manage a team effectively, and a keen understanding of food safety standards. The Catering Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the catering sector of our business whilst ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of our catering service, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
2. Lead, train, and manage a team of chefs, kitchen staff, and service personnel.
3. Plan, design, and execute bespoke catering menus tailored to client preferences and dietary requirements.
4. Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene.
5. Manage budgets, inventory, and ordering of supplies to meet cost control goals.
6. Continuously innovate and update menu offerings, keeping up with food trends and customer feedback.
7. Handle client inquiries, complaints, and ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
8. Report on performance metrics, provide insights for improvement, and develop strategies for future business growth.
9. Supervise food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards are met.
10. Manage the catering team, providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
11. Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels.
12. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
13. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise during events.
14. Maintain accurate records of catering activities, including budgets and expenses.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a Catering Manager, Event Coordinator, or similar role within a fast-paced environment.
2. Strong knowledge of food preparation & catering logistics.
3. Experience in supervising staff and managing teams effectively.
4. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
5. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction.
8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
