Job Title: Customer Project Lead Engineer - Digital Power Applications Mission : The position requires a proactive customer driven approach, demonstrating full ownership and responsibility for implementing and completing projects for our customer. The role involves engineering, managing, planning, and resourcing multiple projects for DPAC-UK project teams. It also requires close working with fellow Engineers, Project Managers, Engineering and Operations Managers as well as the Commercial Team in supporting additional sales opportunities. Key responsibilities: Leads design and implementation of the technical application of an integrated customer project. Responsible for the design and commissioning of Digital Power projects, including project related H&S documentation, design, and O&M documentation. Resolves project technical risks, including identification of all interfaces & creates mitigation strategies to build compliant and optimized solutions. Leads a team of Project Technical Senior Technicians and Engineers to deliver the solution required. Executes and delivers multiple projects through Schneider Electric Quality Management System and Health and Safety Management System policies and procedures. Ensure that defined project goals, objectives and performance measures are met or exceeded and gets final customer approval of the technical solution designed and delivered. Take a proactive approach to progress projects and your own technical ability. Be prepared to travel and at times work away from home within the UK or abroad. Attend site meetings with the customer, contractor, subcontractor, and consultant as appropriate. Be a representative for Digital Power and develop key relationships with the customer/contractors and act as a Subject Matter Expert in a multi-technology architecture solution. Financial control of small projects; including procurement, invoice approval, variation handling, final account agreement, monthly cost to complete reviews. Close liaison with the commercial team Skills and attributes: You should have a good depth of knowledge and/or experience of the following, Be able to demonstrate related work experience and a strong track record in Project Management practices as related to automation control projects. Maintain a strong working knowledge of modern control systems deployed in electrical automation applications (e.g. SCADA, RTUs, PLCs) and preferably experience with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure operating systems and products such as M580/M340 PLC, T300, Saitel RTU, Micom, SEPAM and Easergy P5 & P3 relays and meters etc. Possess knowledge of industry standard protocols such as Modbus, OPC, IEC61850, DNP3, and related cyber security applications for designing secure communications networks for common utility and industrial applications Be knowledgeable on MV and LV electrical networks, three-phase power, switchgear, renewable energy solutions & sources etc. Programming/coding skills in SCADA software (Ecostruxure EPAS & PO SCADA / Citect preferred) Power Monitoring systems knowledge (Preferably EcoStruxure PME - Power Monitoring Expert) and/or experience in industrial communications networks and protocol knowledge. e.g. OPC, Modbus, IEC61850 is advantageous. Ability to develop engineering solutions from concept through to site commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing Be able to build a good customer relationship, and a strong collaboration with sales team to identify opportunities for contract variations and/or change order management. Experience using MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Project. AutoCAD is advantageous. Experience with MS SQL Server, RTU and PLC programming is advantageous. Ability to work independently without supervision. Fluency in English (written and verbal) is a must, another language would be valuable. Strong interpersonal skills working with different cultures. Hold a full driving license and valid passport. Education Essential: Degree/HNC level in Electrical Engineering or similar, in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience Desirable: Project Management, Commercial Management, Contract Management or Procurement related experience.
