SCIENTIST I
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Infectious Diseases, is seeking a Scientist I. This position will be the lead staff member in a new research development program seeking to formalize and grow the dissemination and implementation of science resources and capacity across the entire university. This position will work independently to manage and direct specific projects while also serving as the liaison and point of contact for collaborating and contributing units across UAB Schools, Departments, Centers, and other groups. This position will also lend their subject matter expertise to the development and growth of the university-wide UAB Dissemination and Implementation Science section and will report to the section Director. The successful candidates must have scientific expertise in Dissemination and/or Implementation Science.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Coordinate monthly meetings and events for the UAB DI Task Force, CCTS DI Science Partner Network Council, CCTS Expeditions, DIISC Drop-in Clinic; oversee development and maintenance of websites, social media, and listservs; write news articles, sections of grant applications, progress reports, promotional materials; prepare and maintain slide decks, etc
* Provide overall sophisticated support and collaboration to other units, contributing to the development and execution of a university-wide dissemination and implementation science hub Research Development - collate relevant extramural and intramural funding opportunities and determine processes for dissemination to relevant persons; work with committees on strategic DI recruitment planning by helping to identify candidates and potential HSOM sponsors; assist with development of educational offerings in DI science (short courses, certificates, etc.)
* Perform other duties as assigned
Annual Salary Range: $63,125 - $103,700
Qualifications
Doctor of Philosophy, D.V.M. or M.D. degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR
M.D. and Master's degree. OR Master's degree and four (4) years of related experience OR Bachelor's
degree and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for
education requirement.
