As a Principal piping engineer your responsibilities include: Executing assigned scopes of work. Supporting and supervising task delegation to team. Providing discipline expertise to the business. Identify areas of concern during any project or study. Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value. Address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with clients for the best solution. Coaching and mentoring as delegated. Manage and supervise direct reports. Keep records of auditable files and participate in audit and incident investigations as required. Our Engineers can expect to work in a modern environment, based in our Aberdeen or Glasgow office. We offer flexible working on a hybrid basis where 2 days per week can be worked remotely. About You Our Principal Piping Engineer positions involve the lay-out, material specification, requisition of piping materials and the ideal candidate will: Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Have an Engineering degree or similar in a relevant subject and previous experience in detail design and design checking with an understanding of other disciplines. Preferably be Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent. Co-ordinate with project management, project control and supporting disciplines. Have experience of Offshore platform (Fixed or floating) and drilling operations-Brownfield project would be preferred. Be Experienced in 3D model/lay out review with attention to constructability and maintenance. Be Experienced in procurement of piping bulks, valves and speciality items, TBE and liaison with Vendors. Be Conversant with piping design codes such as ASME B31.3,ASME B31.8 and PD 8010. Be conversant with Industry standards for piping components and valves(Selection and design) Be conversant with industry standards for materials (ASTM, NACE and API) Be Familiar with UK safety case regulations and Pressure equipment regulations (PER 2016)-Preferred Organise, manage, and prioritise discipline deliverables. Be good at communication in written and spoken forms.
