Electronics Hardware Design Engineer
Position Overview
Within the Electronics Engineering team, developing electronic designs to fulfil customer and legislative requirements in a challenging context of high-volume manufacturing, high quality, and harsh environment Electronic Control Unit products for use in our current portfolio.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Design analogue, digital and power related circuits to meet customer requirements
2. Define, prioritize and execute tasks required to meet project objectives (cost, quality and timing)
3. Escalate risks and issues to core team members and management in a timely manner
4. Prepare reports, presentations and technical documentation for internal and customer use
5. Present technical status in internal reviews and with customers and suppliers
6. Ensure reports and presentations include clear analysis and summaries for decision making
7. Apply BOD, BOP, BOT and defined engineering standards procedures and methodologies to execute project activities
8. Apply problem solving and I&CIM techniques in the execution of project activities
9. Evaluate customer and internal requirements and propose electronics hardware solutions
10. Develop worst case analysis for each requirement
11. Develop complete schematics, Bill of Material and other technical documentation
12. Interface with customer and core engineering team
13. Actively support the layout of Printed Circuit Boards by working closely with ECAD
14. Support Validation teams during Design Validation and Process Validation phases
15. Support Manufacturing Development and Test teams located in the Manufacturing Plants
16. Lead Electrical DFMEA activities
17. Follow in-house Bill of Design and actively report status accurately
18. Active participation and interaction with BorgWarner's sites across different regions
19. Develop and maintain test equipment, tools and processes in line with required automotive standards
Job Authorities
1. Provide approvals and take ownership of design tasks
Skills
1. Experienced with Functional Safety ISO26262 and FMEDA
2. Experience with effective problem solving methodologies
3. PC Literate: MS Office, CAD programs, Simulation tools
4. Good written and spoken fluency in English; German and/or French is a plus

Experience & Qualifications
Mandatory
1. University degree in Electrical Engineering - Masters
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in switch mode power supplies or power electronics design
3. Experience within the automotive industry and with mass production
Desirable
1. Previous experience in Powertrain Electronics
2. A good understanding of magnetics (inductors/transformers)
