Role: Aircraft Engineer / Aircraft Mechanic Location: Gatwick Airport Role Type: Contract | 6 months, ongoing Salary: up to £40 an hour, depending on experience Introduction: Our client is an EASA and UK CAA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation, authorised to provide Line and Base Maintenance services on 737 NG/Max, 777, and 787 aircraft. Due to ongoing expansion, they are seeking Aircraft Engineers / Aircraft Mechanics to join thier team. Candidates must have recent maintenance experience on 737 NG/Max, 777, 787, or similar aircraft types. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager - Production and is based at the London Gatwick Hangar facility, operating on a rotational shift pattern. Flexibility, including the willingness to work overtime, is expected. Responsibilities: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, repairs, and functional tests on airframe and engine systems under the supervision of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. Complete all assigned work promptly to minimise aircraft downtime. Ensure accurate and timely completion of aircraft technical log books, maintenance documentation, work packages, and zonal handovers, in coordination with the Licensed Aircraft Engineer. Report any technical issues, discrepancies, or other concerns to the Licensed Aircraft Engineer. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation within assigned work areas. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes, and procedures. Report all incidents and occurrences in the Boeing Safety Management System. Undertake any reasonable tasks as required, including working away from London Gatwick. Required Qualifications: Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or formal training programme, or the ability to demonstrate comparable qualifications and experience. Experience in a Line or Base Maintenance environment, B737 Max/NG, B777, B787 Team player with the initiative to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers. Flexible worker, prepared to adjust working hours to meet operational demands. Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn in-house systems. Meet the requirements to hold a London Gatwick Airport airside pass. Legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom. Work Authorisation: This position is for local hire in the United Kingdom.
