We have an exciting opportunity to join our Benefits team in a permanent role. The team is friendly and supportive and delivers a high-quality service to the residents of East Renfrewshire Council. The team provides residents with financial assistance via the Scottish Welfare Fund, Housing benefit awards, Council Tax reduction, and Discretionary Housing payments. As part of this role, you will be responsible for providing a front-line service to our residents and will be responsible for processing customer information accurately and efficiently.
We need someone who has experience of dealing with customers and delivering high standards of customer care. We are looking for someone with good communication skills, interpersonal skills, and who works well in a team environment.
Ideally, the successful post holder should have an interest in welfare benefits and have good numerical skills.
Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
