About the role
As a Customer Assistant in one of our John Lewis shops, you'll ensure our difference is felt through outstanding customer service and highlight our first-class in-store experiences that our competitors cannot match.
Alongside providing great service, you'll maintain exceptional shop standards through displays, stock availability, and cleanliness. Knowing your customers will enable you to deliver the best service we're known for and build their loyalty with our brand for a lifetime.
Key Responsibilities
Working in our shops can be fast-paced and varied. On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:
1. Delivering engaging and inspirational customer service at every stage of the customer journey.
2. Using your product knowledge and sales training to drive sales and increase profits for the Partnership.
3. Putting the customer at the heart of everything you do, proactively acknowledging and understanding their needs or resolving queries.
4. Supporting the wider team across the shop, including till support, stock replenishment, price ticketing, and general shop-keeping tasks.
5. Identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
6. Supporting accurate stock counts to help protect our profits.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Basic IT literacy.
* Strong communication skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed but not essential; training will be provided.
* Merchandising and product display experience.
