Job overview
To provide direction, education and support to all members of the uLHB multi-disciplinary team in order to promote the highest standards, in a quality learning environment in Resuscitation.
* The Resuscitation Practitioner (RP) will manage, co-ordinate and supervise training in both basic and advanced resuscitation in accordance with the uLHB training strategy.
* The post-holder would be a recognised expert in the field of resuscitation education and practice.
* The post-holder will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner in relation to resuscitation and emergency care.
* To work on own initiative and independently of supervision and to plan and manage own workload.
* To contribute to the development and promotion of the uLHB Resuscitation Service.
* A level of skill in the techniques of resuscitation, teaching and administration is essential.
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Resuscitation Practitioner, joining an established Resuscitation Service in Cardiff, where we offer all the approved courses, ALS, ALS Recert, APLS, ATLS, ILS, NLS, PLS, ALERT, ETC and IMPACT.
Part of the Clinical Board of Surgery, the Resuscitation Service is responsible for the organisation, implementation and evaluation of the needs of the UHB staff, providing training in basic and advanced life support in adults and paediatrics, across the acute hospitals, community hospitals and throughout Primary Care.
Applications are invited from Registered nurses with sufficient relevant experience at a minimum of Band 6 in a critical or emergency care setting. You must have an interest in Resuscitation Training. An ALS/APLS instructor qualification would be desirable. Applicants should be self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills with an interest in teaching. There will be a requirement to work flexible hours on occasion. Able to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
