As Ecommerce Optimisation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical and analytical backbone of our e-commerce operations. Working closely with the Head of Ecommerce and Ecommerce Manager, you’ll lead the development of new website features focusing on performance optimisation, drive A/B testing initiatives, and deliver actionable insights through robust data analysis and reporting.
Your role will involve managing external developers, ensuring technical enhancements align with trading goals, and creating automation workflows that personalise customer journeys. If you’re a detail-oriented, data-driven professional with a passion for optimising the digital shopping experience, this role offers the perfect blend of technical skills and collaborative strategy.
* Shopify expert with minimum 5 years of experience in managing website development projects.
* Advanced data analysis skills and knowledge of ecommerce reporting tools such as heatmaps, funnels, user journey mapping tools, Google Analytics, Looker.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Advanced experience with AB testing tools and methodologies.
* Experience working on Conversion Rate Optimisation projects.
* Experience working with development agencies, web and graphic designers.
Website Development & Project Management
* Manage the technical development of new website features and functionality, prioritising projects in alignment with the Head of Ecommerce to enhance trading performance and the customer journey.
* Manage the day to day running of projects and ensure they are delivered on time.
* Deliver regular and consistent status updates on projects progress and maintain planned timelines.
* Manage reporting and project management tools such as Asana, both internal and external and lead on communication on tickets.
* Manage day to day communication with external developers, ensuring timely delivery of updates that support trading, campaigns, and overall site performance.
* Work with UX/UI designers (in-house Creative team or external freelancers/agencies) to ensure a seamless and engaging customer experience that maximises conversions.
Performance Optimisation & Insights
* Leverage tools like heat maps, user testing, and data analysis (Shopify, Google Analytics 4, Looker etc) to identify opportunities to improve the user journey, reduce friction points, and increase conversion rates across the website.
* Develop and execute A/B testing strategies and continuously refine the customer experience, ensuring alignment with trade priorities.
* Monitor and report on key website metrics, such as load times, bounce rates, exit rates, and click-through rates addressing potential issues impacting performance and devising ideas for optimisation.
* Collaborate with the Head of E-Commerce to explore and propose innovative data-driven solutions that enhance the customer experience, improve operational efficiency, and test new ideas.
* Share new tools, technologies, or strategies with the team to elevate the site’s capabilities.
* Work closely with Head of Ecommerce in developing and implementing a robust test-and-learn methodology which informs trade strategies and optimises site performance.
* Deliver clear, concise, and impactful insights to the Head of Ecommerce through regular reporting on trading metrics, customer behaviour, and website performance. Collaborate with the Ecommerce Manager to ensure insights are actioned effectively and support broader trade strategies.
* Partner with the Ecommerce Trade Manager, Marketing, Creative, Product, and Customer Services teams to ensure data insights align with overall business objectives and customer needs.
Collaboration & Coordination
* Maintain a strong working relationship with the Ecommerce Manager to ensure data, insights, and development initiatives support trading objectives.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising and Marketing, to ensure all development projects and automation align with broader business goals.
* Provide technical expertise to the Ecommerce Manager, resolving issues impacting trading or campaigns.
* Act as a resource for training on analytics tools and technical processes for wider team.
* Share detailed reports and development updates with the team to ensure alignment on shared goals.
* Document all processes for data analysis, automation, personalisation and website development as well as current website processes to enable seamless collaboration between roles.
