Building Safety Manager
Blackwall Reach - London
£61,686 per year plus company car or car allowance
35 hours per week
Temporary position for up to 12 months
We have an opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join our team, based in London. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. The main purpose of this role is to manage the Building Safety function across allocated high rise properties within the Sanctuary property portfolio, ensuring full and auditable compliance.
The role is primarily focused on buildings in scope of the Building Safety Act. This includes social housing and student flats in London and surroundings.
The role of Building Safety Manager will include:
* Lead on the production, updating and submitting of the safety case report. This will include understanding how the building is constructed, to ensure that they are suitably designed and maintained to ensure resident safety
* Identify, monitor and assess building safety risks in the building, including by working with internal fire and compliance teams
* Working directly with residents, as well as those helping to keep them safe, such as on site staff and Housing Officers
* Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and technical guidance notes
Skills and experiences:
* Degree in construction, Building service engineering or to degree standard level 5/7 surveying or relevant
* Level 6 Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Building Safety Manager qualification
* HND/HNC in construction
* Experience of managing risk
* Able to apply pragmatic approaches in resolving issues, and understanding legislation ensuring the safety of residents
* Willing to ask questions and understand the unknown
* Excellent customer and staff engagement
* This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving license
