The School of Engineering has seen a period of exceptional growth in research, teaching, and enterprise activities. To support and maintain such growth, we are appointing to an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering post to join the Civil engineering Portfolio.
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience and a track record in bidding and securing research and enterprise funds and developing internationally recognised research programs that will expand and complement the school’s research strength. They will also need to show experience in the design, development, and delivery of academic programmes, delivery of external accreditation, and interaction with industrial and educational partners.
The role holder must be forward-thinking with expertise and experience in developing, delivering, and assessing high-quality material that integrates modern and emerging technologies in the delivery of any core topic in Civil Engineering. Familiarity with the UK higher education system is essential.
The successful candidate will have an important role in the management and delivery of teaching and research within the Portfolio of Civil Engineering and the School, and must have a proven ability in managing resources, teams, workloads, and personal development plans. Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are important skills required in this role. A leadership opportunity for the candidate such as roles like Academic Portfolio Lead - Civil Engineering or Associate Head of School in RKE or Students Success.
