Due to a team member moving on to a new role, we are now recruiting for an Employment Coordinator to join our Dundee team to support delivery of our Pathways project. Barnardo's is delighted to be part of the ”All In Dundee” Consortium of Third Sector Training Providers led by ENABLE Works in Dundee. This project is funded by Dundee City Council. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Senior PES Development Worker (Team Manager), and working alongside existing Pathways Employment Coordinators. The successful candidate will be responsible for engagement, outreach and registration of parents onto the programme (aged 35 and under, unemployed and employed), whilst also engaging with partners in the community and undertaking employer engagement duties in partnership with the team. 100% of working hours will be dedicated to working on the Pathways Project.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
1. A commitment and motivation to achieve the best outcomes for young people and young parents; and experience in supporting young people aged 16-35 to access and sustain employment opportunities in the employability sector (essential).
2. Knowledge and experience of supporting Young Parents into work (desirable).
3. Experience in engaging with employers to support individuals into employment (desirable).
4. Experience in advocating on behalf of young people and working with partners and support agencies to signpost individuals to the most appropriate organisations for support (essential).
5. Knowledge of the barriers faced by young people / young parents wishing to secure employment, or to progress within the workplace; and the ability to propose and develop solutions (essential).
6. Experience supporting young people to complete assessments and jointly develop action plans to support their journey into work (essential).
7. Knowledge and experience in supporting young people to improve their mental health so that they can access and sustain FE and employment opportunities.
8. The ability to adopt a person-centred, trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to meet the holistic support needs of each parent we work with (essential).
