The role About the Service At the heart of Southwark Council's work is our Adult Social Care Division, managing a budget of over £120 million to deliver high-quality services to our community. The Personal Budgets and Client Finance Unit plays a crucial role in this mission, ensuring service users receive the financial support and assessments they need. The Client Finance Service is instrumental in implementing the Council's Fairer Contributions Policy and ensuring compliance with national standards. We work collaboratively across departments and with partners to deliver exceptional outcomes that benefit our residents. About the Role As the Client Finance Team Manager, you'll lead and inspire a dedicated team of seven Client Finance Caseworkers. Together, you will be responsible for: Reviewing and processing financial assessment forms submitted by service users. Ensuring assessments are fair, accurate, and compliant with local and national standards. Overseeing reviews of historic cases to guarantee all financial contributions are up to date. Managing financial processes in systems like MOSAIC and SAP to support Adult Social Care's funding and delivery of services. This role is pivotal in generating income for the division and maintaining accurate client contributions. Additionally, you'll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to improve workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and support the wider goals of Southwark Council. Your leadership will be essential in motivating your team, implementing positive change, and ensuring the service continues to deliver high standards of financial processing. About You You'll bring significant experience in leading and managing teams, particularly in the areas of client finance or related fields. Key qualities include: A strong understanding of charging, income collection, and debt management within Adult Social Care. Knowledge of financial legislation, GDPR, and adult social care policies. Experience working with social care systems (e.g., MOSAIC) and financial systems (e.g., SAP). Excellent leadership and motivational skills to inspire your team and drive service improvements. You should be adept at managing complex workloads, analysing problems, and presenting innovative solutions.
