Pay: £61,469 - £71,590
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 Hours per week Full-Time
Location: Bradford, Sir Henry Mitchell House / Hybrid Working

About The Role
The Head of Governance and Compliance will be accountable for the implementation and oversight of Trust governance management activities. The role involves exercising strategic and operational leadership across all areas of complaints and governance, particularly information governance and risk. You will work collaboratively with Senior Leaders to help deliver on the Trust's vision of high-quality care and promote the welfare of children and families.
As the Trust's Data Protection Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring robust arrangements are in place to ensure the safety and security of personal information. You will assist in the investigation of incidents and breaches of Data Protection and provide expert advice throughout the Trust.
Key Responsibilities
* Trust Governance:
o Develop the organisational governance framework for the Trust and support the delivery of the Trust's Organisational Effectiveness Plan.
o Ensure the scheme of delegation, spend efficiencies management, and financial controls are delivered to the highest standard.
o Implement a risk-based approach to internal audit processes and ensure effective management of the internal audit contract.
* Information Governance:
o Act as Trust DPO and ensure data protection compliance.
o Provide advice and recommendations regarding data protection rules.
o Oversee effective management of queries or complaints regarding information governance.
o Develop an Information Governance Strategy and maintain related policies.
* Customer Care and Complaints:
o Lead a team that promotes an effective complaints process.
o Provide strategic oversight and leadership of the Service.
o Develop policies relevant to the Customer Care Service.
* Effective Development of the Team:
o Provide line management of the Deputy DPO and Customer Care Manager.
o Oversee the team in the delivery of the Information Governance and Customer Care function.
About You
* Masters level qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
* Hold a governance qualification (e.g., ICSA) or other relevant qualification.
* Over 5 years of experience in a governance-focused role.
* Member of a relevant professional body.
* Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
* Ability to articulate complex information to large groups.
