Due to a shuffle of current staff we are seeking a passionate and dedicated ROOM LEADER to run our British Woodland themed toddler room (18months to 2.5 year olds). Wild at Heart is a innovative nursery on the outskirts of Driffield. We are thriving and sought after; with a ethos based on nature, global citizenship and integral life skills. Staff are fondly referred to as 'Maroon Superheroes' as we firmly believe in putting our all into young children, to create a better future. With spacious natural playrooms, multiple adventure playgrounds, pets and our own private forest school site, our education is never within 4 walls. All our senior team work 8am until 6pm four days a week with one set day off every week.
The ideal candidate will hold at least a Level 3 Early Years qualification and have experience of children aged 18 months to 2.5 years. As the Room Leader, you will have a team of 4 staff members managing 20 toddlers on a 1:4 ratio. You need to ensure a safe and nurturing environment, suitable daily routines and activities both inside and out that enable these young toddlers to learn and develop on an outstanding level. Your ability to communicate effectively and drive team performance will be essential in fostering a positive atmosphere for both staff, children and families.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage daily activities within the nursery, ensuring adherence to safety and educational standards.
Along with 3 other rooms leaders and 4 deputies, be part of the nurseries senior leadership team. Reporting to, assisting and being inspired by the deputy and nursery manager, ensuring Wild at Heart remains exceptional and successful.
Lead and support a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance and training as needed, completing supervision meetings and daily agendas.
Be a key person tracking the learning of young children, completing observation and assessment reports. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress or any concerns.
Develop and implement engaging educational activities, both adult directed and through continuous provision, both indoors and out, that cater to the needs of these young children.
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all children.
Handle administrative tasks such as delegating jobs, maintaining daily paperwork, being responsible for cleaning, organising resources and managing staffing.
Foster a collaborative team culture that encourages professional development.
Qualifications
At least a Level 3, full and relevant Early Years qualification.
Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a happy, established team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A genuine passion for childcare and the development of young children.
