We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil with ASD at our welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Accrington. This rewarding role offers the chance to positively impact a young person's educational journey within a mainstream school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, helping them navigate the school day and access the curriculum.
- Assist with academic tasks, emotional regulation, and social interactions to promote independence and self-confidence.
- Implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and support strategies in collaboration with teachers and the SEN team.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with ASD, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and patient approach.
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- A proactive, empathetic, and adaptable mindset to meet the pupil's evolving needs.
- Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or SEN (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
