Payroll Assistant, Ashford
Salary: £30,000
Key Duties:
1. Full range of payroll duties including the processing of annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly payrolls.
2. Preparing and drafting documents such as pay slips, P45s, and P60s.
3. Processing Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC as required.
4. End of Year processing and reconciliations including end of year RTI submissions.
5. Processing tax code changes.
6. Processing all new starters, leavers, absence, statutory leave, and pay.
7. Processing payroll reports for management.
8. Ensuring compliance with tax, NI, and pension contributions.
9. Following and helping to develop processes for the delivery of payroll work.
10. Providing first line support for payroll queries.
11. Supporting the finance team with general finance duties, including reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and assisting with month-end processes.
12. Developing and maintaining good working relationships.
Qualifications:
1. 1-2 years experience working in a busy payroll function.
2. Grade C and above at GCSE English & Maths.
3. In-depth understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
4. Ability to work on own initiative, within a team, and meet deadlines.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
8. A strong team player adopting a can-do and flexible attitude.
