The Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on a child's educational journey by providing tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one support to a pupil with special educational needs, ensuring their safety, engagement, and well-being.
* Assist in the implementation of the pupil's Individual Education Plan (IEP), working closely with the class teacher and SENCo.
* Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials and activities to meet their needs.
* Foster the pupil's social and emotional development through positive interactions and targeted interventions.
* Monitor and record the pupil's progress, maintaining detailed records and providing feedback to relevant staff.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages the pupil's independence and confidence.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 2 in Numeracy & Literacy (or equivalent).
* Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in a one-to-one setting, is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo, and other support staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
* Commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
