Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Cambridge
Salary: Up to £58,000 Depending on experience
I am actively seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to be a part of an innovative and fast-growing Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Cambridge. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a vital role in leading the design and delivery of complex structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. My client specialises in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for a diverse range of projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities for this Senior Structural Engineering role include:
1. Project Leadership: Manage and lead structural engineering projects, including the design, analysis, and implementation phases, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
2. Design & Analysis: Develop structural designs and calculations using advanced software, including Tekla, AutoCAD, Autodesk, and other industry-standard tools, ensuring compliance with UK and international codes.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet client requirements and project goals.
4. Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support and fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment.
5. Sustainability: Promote sustainable practices in structural design, with a focus on minimising environmental impact and enhancing energy efficiency.
6. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and review technical reports, design documentation, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Client Interaction: Engage with clients, understanding their needs, presenting design solutions, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements:
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. Chartered status (or working towards it) with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent is preferred.
3. Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record in delivering complex projects.
4. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Autodesk, and related tools.
5. Strong understanding of UK Building Codes and Regulations.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
