In this interesting, interim, role within the Model Risk Operating Office, you’ll be responsible for planning, leading and overseeing the execution of time-bound regulatory and non-regulatory model risk projects from conception through to delivery.
You’ll be joining a dynamic and engaging team responsible for providing structure, control and operational oversight for the Santander Model Risk community by delivering clarity, alignment and efficiency. You’ll convey complex topics and plans to senior management, present with impact and ensure key deliverables are met through robust governance techniques.
You’ll have financial responsibility for project budget and be required to create look forward spending plans whilst tracking against day-to-day utilisation. You’ll also be accountable for the co-ordination and scheduling of the model change pipeline, conducting supply vs demand analysis and liaising with model users to prioritise activities. The difference you’ll make:
* Managing all aspects of project management across a number of complex and high priority initiatives from inception through to delivery.
* Providing a structure of concise project governance that enables progress-at-pace in a clear and standardised manner as well as actively identifying and mitigating emerging risks.
* Ensuring a regular cadence of steering committees, workstreams and workshops as required.
* Supporting the wider Model-Related Change team by actively sharing knowledge and best practice to create a best in class project hub.
* Managing a complex multi-year model development schedule through the application of business analysis skills, providing a well governed and robust centralised planning function to the wider community.
* Engaging 3rd party vendors and taking accountability for their onboarding, risk management and contract negotiations.
What you’ll bring:
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
* Previous experience as a Model Risk Business Analyst or Project Manager within a banking environment.
* In-depth understanding of Model Risk Management including methodology design, validation and model governance.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to present to senior leadership on complex topics.
* Proven track record of delivering against time-bound regulatory projects.
It would also be nice for you to have:
* Industry recognised project management qualification such as Prince 2, PMP or equivalent.
* Excellent understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
What else you need to know:
This role is a fixed-term contract until 31st December 2026 with the potential to extend or be made permanent. It is based in Milton Keynes.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your contract duration.
* We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
* 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
