JOB PURPOSE
In conjunction with the Specialty Manager, take a leading role in providing day-to-day support to the SBU’s Admin & Clerical staff and lead on the Doctors in Training rota planning.
Main duties of the job
JOB SUMMARY
To provide full support to the Specialty Manager in the day-to-day operational management and coordination of Access and Medicine, working collaboratively within the specialty business unit management team. Responsibilities include:
1. Coordination of project work to support service transformation and development.
2. Day-to-day management of all administrative and clerical services, including planning of the Doctors in Training rota to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
3. Working with the Specialty Manager to ensure that the strategic business unit service meets and achieves national performance indicators (e.g., cancer waiting times, 18 weeks, quality, activity, and financial targets).
4. Providing line management to the Medical Secretaries and administration teams.

* Degree or equivalent professional qualification
* Evidence of personal development
Knowledge
* Willingness to operationally manage teams

* Evidence of project coordination to facilitate service change
* Experience of analysing data to ensure consistent and compliant outcomes.
* Evidence of understanding of large & complex clinical environments
* Previous experience in managing in a clinical setting
