An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Devices Trainer working with the Hywel Dda Health Board - Medical Devices Training Team (MDTT). The duties will include:
Providing evidence-based specialist training on all high risk Medical devices, focusing on:
1. Medical device safety, quality, and embedding change within clinical practice.
2. Planning, coordinating and delivering aspects of the Health Board training Programme.
Main duties of the job
Work with the Medical Devices Coordinator to identify devices that require training and/or assessment.
1. Develop training strategies for identified high risk medical devices.
2. Provide evidence-based training on defined medical devices.
3. Develop, plan and coordinate the training programme for all identified medical devices.
4. Liaise with training providers from companies to ensure training and assessments are of a suitable standard and that staff training is recorded on the ESR system.
5. Ensure that all training and assessments are recorded via the Health Board ESR/OLM systems.
6. Evaluate and report on provision and attendance on training.
7. Develop, supervise and support current and new work based trainers.
8. Arrange regular clinical days to maintain credibility.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* Appropriate professional registration i.e. NMC/ HCPC register
* Degree level qualification in appropriate subject or equivalent experience
* Successful completion of or able to work towards a teaching/assessment qualification
* Evidence of medical device competencies appropriate to their role
* Basic IT skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel), with the ability to prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint) and if appropriate maintain training databases (Microsoft Access)
* Recent experience of clinical skills education
* PGCE

* Broad range of clinical / technical experience
* Evidence of previous contributions towards training and education
* Demonstrates an excellent understanding of use of medical devices
* Experience of conducting audit and research
