The Position
The Head of Commercial and Pricing will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of pricing strategies, driving commercial growth, and ensuring profitability across the organisation. This role will oversee the end-to-end commercial processes, manage key stakeholder relationships, and optimise pricing models to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy:
• Develop and execute the overall commercial strategy, aligning with business goals and market trends.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to maximise profitability.
• Lead negotiations with key partners, suppliers, and clients to secure favourable terms and agreements.
Pricing Management:
• Oversee the development and implementation of pricing models and frameworks.
• Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand to adjust strategies as needed.
• Ensure pricing structures are competitive, profitable, and aligned with business objectives.
Financial Performance & Analysis:
• Analyse financial performance data to assess the impact of pricing and commercial strategies.
• Provide regular reporting and insights on pricing and commercial metrics to senior management.
• Assist with the forecasting and budgeting cycles in relation to commercial and pricing initiatives.
Stakeholder Management:
• Collaborate closely with sales, operational, and finance teams to ensure alignment of pricing strategies with overall business plans.
• Maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of commercial objectives.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential commercial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies in all commercial activities.
Leadership & Team Development:
• Lead and mentor the project management and delivery performance teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the team by staying informed on best practices and industry developments.
The Candidate
As the ideal candidate you are likely to have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred) along with proven experience in a senior commercial or pricing role within a consultancy business (water sector experience will be advantageous).
You should have strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of market dynamics along with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
Your career to date should demonstrate excellent leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
