Job summary Torbay Hospital has an exciting opportunity to recruit a registered nurse with an interest in Ophthalmology to support our now open new, and existing dedicated eye theatres. We are recruiting now to increase our existing team and are passionate to facilitate opportunities to support all staff in becoming fully trained, competent and confident for the role. We are looking an individual who has interested in working with patients who have sight related problems, who may or may not have experience in this field. Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the eye and visual system. The eye, its surrounding structures and the visual system can be affected by a number of clinical conditions. Eye health services are becoming more and more important as the UK population ages. An ageing population means there are more and more incidences of age-related diseases of the eye, such asage-related macular degeneration. These eye diseases can be successfully treated if caught early, and can be managed effectively with existing treatments and medicines.
