We are looking for a Senior Content & Social Media Producer with a strong interest in the impact of climate change on health to join our team on a permanent basis. Where in Wellcome will I be working? You will be working in the Digital Content & Social Media team, which is part of Corporate Affairs. The role reports to the Digital Content & Social Media Lead and you will be working closely with the Climate and Health team. The Digital Content & Social Media team plans, creates, commissions and maintains digital content across Wellcome’s website (wellcome.org), our social media channels and email communications. The team includes the Digital Content & Social Media Lead, three Senior Content & Social Media Producers and three Digital Content & Social Media Producers. They work with teams across Wellcome to ensure our digital content is mission-focused and impactful. This role will work alongside other communications specialists as part of a dedicated team delivering the Climate and Health solutions programme, including science communications, influencing decision-makers and engaging audiences to act on the health impacts of climate change. What will I be doing? Our Senior Content & Social Media Producers plan, create, edit and commission digital content that supports our mission to solve urgent health challenges. You will play a critical part in shaping and developing how digital content delivers our goals in climate and health. The Senior Content & Social Media Producer will find creative ways to engage and inspire audiences, focusing on the solutions that science can bring to protect human health from climate change. You’ll be continuously improving wellcome.org and our social media channels with engaging content that is informed by data and audience insight. As a Senior Content & Social Media producer : Lead digital content production for Wellcome’s Climate & Health programme, making sure it delivers on our goals and connects with our target audiences to accelerate action. Plan, write, create, edit and commission content to a quarterly planning cycle that meets organisational goals and is tailored to audience needs across channels. Embed a creative and effective content production process and help to maintain the content calendar to ensure excellent content is published across channels on time. Advise and support the Digital Content & Social Media Producers to develop and deliver content plans, manage our social media channels and monitor and report on content performance. Embed our anti-racist and anti-ableist principles and involve minoritised communities when developing digital content. Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments. Is this job for me? We’re looking for someone with significant experience in planning, producing and editing digital content. You should be comfortable creating the content yourself as well as briefing others and outsourcing through commissions. Experience of climate and health communications is preferred for this role but isn’t essential. If you don’t have direct experience, motivation to learn and be proactive in creating content opportunities will be essential. This role will suit experienced content producers interested in leading and delivering insight-driven content strategies across channels. You should be comfortable building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, pitching and presenting ideas independently, as well as working in a team spanning different communications disciplines. The Senior Content & Social Media Producer will provide support, guidance and coaching to other content producers in the team and colleagues creating content around Wellcome, offering opportunities to also develop leadership and management skills. We are looking for someone who has: Significant digital content planning, creative development and production experience. Experience in developing effective, collaborative working relationships with a range of stakeholders and working well in a multidisciplinary team to achieve results, including developing, presenting and pitching ideas based on an organisation’s goals. Project management experience, from concept to delivery. Significant experience of writing, editing and creating content for different audiences in a range of formats across different channels, ideally with experience in climate change and health. Experience of setting and working to a busy schedule, working under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines. Experience of working on high profile, complex content would be an advantage, including working at major events or in a media environment. Experience of using content management systems, social media platforms and analytics tools.
