COMMISSIONING ENGINEER – ENVIRONMENT NORMANTON What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for A Commissioning Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business, working within the water sector and primarily within the Yorkshire Water utility area. Ideally, you will based in or around the Normanton area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. The position would be suited to an experienced Commissioning Engineer having completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship. As a Commissioning Engineer you will be focused to ensure the efficient delivery of the Mechanical, Electrical ICA (MEICA) & Commissioning of Yorkshire Water AMP7 projects. You will be assigned to the business unit Senior Commissioning Engineer mentor and work closely with the project delivery team on a range of projects up to Takeover including all associated document deliverables. This will include ensuring the site is fully commissioned and take over requirements are delivered to the wider project team in a timely manner. The role encompasses input to the design process, providing a commissioning overview to the project team, includes preparation of detailed procedures to cover the commissioning activities and ensuring the availability of records demonstrating the configuration / testing completed. You will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining MEICA safe systems of work in accordance with Site Health and Safety Management procedures at the projects under your control. This includes a regular assessment of new risks and hazards that may not be specifically covered by safety system documentation already in place. About You: To be successful in the role of Commissioning Engineer, we’d like you to have: Experience in the water industry. Willingness to commit to commissioning engineer development. Willingness to learn and gain knowledge surrounding water & waste processes and associated mechanical, electrical & ICA (control) systems. Demonstrate a logical approach to fault finding and solution development. Have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications to facilitate the creation and presentation of reports as required. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of health, safety and environmental approaches. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of water industry processes. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the water industry. Preferably have the ability to undertake the role of a LV Electrical Authorised Person and be able to demonstrate an understanding of permit to work systems. Recognised apprenticeship – Electrical preferred. Valid CSCS or ECS card (preferred – Galliford Try will support where required). SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred – Galliford Try will support where required). Full driving licence. First Aid at Work (preferred – Galliford Try will support where required).
