Job summary
Orchard Medical Practice is seeking to recruit 2 nursing associates to join our team of GP's, pharmacist, pharmacy technicians, paramedics, nurses, HCA's, receptionists and admin.
This is an exciting opportunity for an existing nursing associate or a health care assistant who would like to develop and train to become a nursing associate, to join East Ipswich Primary Care Network. The post holder will be directly employed by Orchard Medical Practice but will work across 2 Practices over 1 location.
Main duties of the job
1. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
2. Support delivery of the new network Directly Enhanced Services
3. Actively identify and complete checks for QOF targets
4. Work within your competency

Job responsibilities
Job Responsibilities include:
5. Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes
6. Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately
7. Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring
8. Facilitate routine 24-hour ECG monitoring
9. Administer B12 injections
10. Carry out NHS Health Checks
11. Carry out phlebotomy
12. Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
13. Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics
14. Carry out BMI checks as directed
15. Act as a chaperone as required
16. Administer flu vaccinations
17. Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
18. Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
19. Ensure fridges are monitored and cleaned routinely
20. Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
21. Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
22. Qualifications if already qualified as a nursing associate
23. Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
24. Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
25. Training if applying as a HCA wishing to train as a nursing associate
26. Training and experience as a HCA, ideally working in Primary Care
