Main duties of the job Perinatal mental illness affects up to 27% of women during pregnancy and the first year following the birth of a child. If left untreated it can have significant and long lasting effects on women and families. Due to the diverse and complex socio-economic challenges faced by a significant proportion of women accessing maternity services at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, there is an identified need for a Band 6 midwife to support the specialist midwife in co-ordinating care for women not only experiencing perinatal mental health issues, but those who have other complex care needs including neurodiversity and learning difficulties.
