Shaw healthcare is looking for a Nurse to join the team in Maes-y-dderwen, Tredegar. You will join a team committed to making a difference to the lives of those we provide care for. Our aim is to deliver the highest standard of care to our service users.
About the service:
The aim at Maes-Y-Dderwen is to meet the individual needs of every resident through a person-centred approach to care. We emphasize the therapeutic relationship between service user and care staff.
Maes-Y-Dderwen is a dynamic and exciting place for both service users and staff. The service we offer is diverse and specialised, reflecting the key principles of the National Service Frameworks for mental illness.
As a Nurse your key duties include:
1. Ensure the highest possible standards of care, assessing residents' needs and wishes, and developing services to enhance their quality of life.
2. Champion appropriate independence and personal choice; developing, reviewing and updating care plans to meet residents’ needs.
3. Oversee all aspects of medicine management on your shift.
4. Liaise professionally with visitors and other external stakeholders.
5. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines.
6. Support, guide, teach and mentor others in line with the NMC Code.
The following skills and experience would be preferred:
1. The ability to lead a team, analyse problems and propose solutions.
2. Effective communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships.
3. Understands and effectively uses IT and communication systems required for the role.
4. Respectful of the values, views and needs of others.
5. Able to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
6. Experience of delivering nursing care within a mental health care setting.
7. Experience of participating in quality and clinical governance programmes.

Salary: £20.60 per hour
Working Hours: 36hrs a week available (All day shifts, 07:45am to 8:15pm with 30 min unpaid break)
