The Opportunity Due to project increases, a fantastic contract assignment has arisen to support various major upgrades and new buildings are being designed and built. There is a need for several proven Senior Civil/Structural Engineers to support the design aspect of these projects. These are nuclear projects so if you have worked in this industry, or other highly regulated industries and are able to obtain security clearance, then we are very keen to hear from you.

This role has been deemed inside IR35.
Location: Chester| Hybrid
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Produce design deliverables (assumption notes, technical specifications and calculation notes, etc).
Perform design and analysis tasks as necessary.
Review and justify design decisions to the Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR).
Technical verifications of civil engineering documents.
Create and maintain CDM Designers Risk Registers and associated CDM deliverables.
Delivery of design inputs to projects to specification and to time with minimal recourse to the Engineering Manager.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Degree educated in civil and/or structural engineering, working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE.
Design office experience with experience of design of reinforced concrete and design of steel structures.
Experience using finite element modelling software and associated post processing software, with experience in validation and verification of modelling tools and their outputs.
Design experience in nuclear context (or similar highly regulated context).
Knowledge and understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering, an understanding of American codes of practice.
Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
Self-starter with a professional approach and a technical background.It’s great if you also have the following
Incorporated or Chartered status preferred, although having an action plan in place to achieve one of these would be acceptable.
