They work with both public and private sector customers in the specialist sectors of rail, highways and engineering. Their clients include HS2, Highways England and well-known residential and commercial developers. They deliver nationally but are organised regionally. As a company, they pride themselves on the technical capabilities of their staff, their high standard of work and the amount of repeat business they are rewarded. The specific Civil Engineering arm is turning over approximately £150M from work including Highways Infrastructure, Airport projects, 278 works, Landscaping and the occasional work on Rail Depots. The projects involve extensive concrete works, deep drainage and heavy earthworks and they range in value from £1m - £150M.
About the opportunity:
Due to successful company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for a Project Quantity Surveyor to work on their highways term maintenance contract in Bath and North East Somerset. This is a 10 year framework, which has 5 years remaining and as a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of making as much profit as possible for the company on the project you’ll be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships

For this permanent opportunity, my client is looking to target professionals looking to earn anywhere from £42,000 - £52,000 per annum, however, specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer which includes a car allowance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, private health care and enrolment on to their pension scheme.
About the requirements:
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management and have working knowledge of NEC forms of contracts. Ideally you will be currently working at Project Quantity Surveyor level however professionals at Assistant level who are looking to step up, will also be considered.
Due to the nature of the project, you must hold experience of working within the highways sector, gained whilst working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor in the UK and due to location, you must reside within commute distance from Bath and hold a full UK driving license.
