We have an exciting opportunity to deploy a freelance Quality Manager who can work flexibly to enable us to deliver our detailed scope of work, and the templates of various documents our clients require to be populated on 4 live projects across the UK.
2DegreesKelvin (2DK) is an award-winning solar engineering company, specialising in project life-cycle services and solutions for the utility-scale solar industry. Providing a range of boutique solar engineering consultancy, advanced inspection, testing and quality focused services, as well as becoming a market leader in asset life extension project delivery.
The successful Quality Manager will establish and manage Quality Management Systems and processes on site including the contribution and upkeep of all CDM related documents as applicable, ensuring legal, commercial and technical compliance from a quality perspective.
What will you be doing?
You will ensure all work is carried out with the highest regard and compliance with statutory and regulatory health and safety, environmental and quality requirements. Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Day-to-day communications with management and quality teams.
* Utilisation of ongoing QM management systems processes on site/s including the contribution and upkeep of all QM related documents as applicable.
* Representing clients on site in a professional manner.
* Regular reporting including weekly reports to support the Project Manager and the completion of all relevant documentation and reports in-line with Quality, facility policies, procedures, and systems.
* Utilisation of digital document control systems for the QM management applications.
* Attend internal and external meetings as necessary.
* Provide technical advice to the business and ensure consistent and professional communications.
* Ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported as per the applicable site procedures.
* Report unsafe practices regarding any employee failing to discharge their responsibilities satisfactorily and intervene as required.
* Ensuring ISO 9001:2015 standard compliance (as applicable).
* Establish and manage Quality Management Plans (QMPs) and ensure that they are enacted throughout projects.
* Establish Inspection & Test Protocols (ITP’s) and ensure that they are enacted throughout projects; including FAT’s, SAT’s & transportation checks.
* Engagement and effective Quality Management of all subcontractors on site (main contracts being civils, mechanical and electrical). Ensure that all site checks, systems, processes are taking place, as well as documentation & record keeping is stored in a structured and auditable fashion.
* Gather quality-related photographs and videos (where necessary) on quality-related topics.
* Ensure that materials and components are checked in line with the QMP/ITP and are to standard and all accounted for.
* Lead quality non-conformities and/or quality incidents and investigations on behalf of the client.
* Lead the construction & commissioning PR testing, Punchlist & handover management process from a quality perspective.
About you:
Freelance service providers would be issued with training on our clients Q-Protocol portal where all quality observations and inspections are recorded and managed. You will also need the following essential criteria:
* Formally qualified in technical discipline (ideally Electrically bias).
* Direct and hands on experience of quality management or QA/QC roles on large scale solar farm construction projects.
* Familiar with QMP, ITP’s and quality inspections.
* Excellent communication & organisational skills to ensure that QA findings and resolutions are recorded, communicated and dealt with in a professional manner.
* Freelancer with limited or sole trader registered company.
* Hold relevant Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
* Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
* Full UK Drivers license.
* CSCS Card as a minimum / Ideally SMSTS.
Where?
Our clients’ sites are located in Middlesborough & Blackpool and will require travel between sites. Likely to be operating somewhere between 1-3 days per week on average, but flexibility and dependability are crucial.
