Summary of Role: As a Family Time Supervisor, you will ensure families are welcomed and supported when in the family Resource centre, in community settings and other appropriate venues as required. You will have a flexible and caring approach towards children, parents and other family members who are attending Family Time. Our aim is to provide a positive experience for children, young people and their families. You will therefore ensure children and young people are kept safe and their emotional wellbeing is always prioritised. You will ensure the welfare of children and young people ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed. You will provide an opportunity to support parents to maintain positive relationships with their children. Where required, you will oversee practical and emotional support for parents building a trusting relationship with them to help make Family Time sessions a positive experience for children. Where contact is between the wider family group e.g. Family Sibling Time, you will ensure the needs of all those attending Family Time are considered and supported. 1. To support the delivery of safe and effective supervised Family Time sessions. 2. To promote and maintain Family Time arrangements that have been agreed at the Family Time agreement meeting. 3. To ensure you understand and comply with procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare and safety of children. 4. To observe and record the quality of parenting during the Family Time session ensuring observations reports are clearly and succinctly recorded and within time as required by the Social Work Team and the court. To keep records of your work on London Borough of Barnet Children and Families LCS electronic recording system. To record and upload information, photos and relevant materials memorabilia in relation to the journey of the child. 5. To recognise any risks of harm and intervene appropriately to de-escalate the risks or bring in additional support as required to safeguard the children. Adhere to confidentiality, information sharing protocols and risk assessment processes. 6. To comply with Health and Safety Policy, Risk Assessments, Data Protection Policy and to protect your own and others’ health, safety and welfare. 7. To participate in personal supervision, reflective group supervision and appraisal processes to ensure your knowledge skills and practice is of a high standard. 8. To work flexibly as may be required by the needs of the service and carry out any other reasonable duties as required. To work flexibly to when required including weekends and evenings. 9.
