Position Overview
We are currently looking to hire experienced and/or trainee Design Engineer / Draughts people / CAD Technicians to join the business on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding in the use of 3D CAD software as a minimum, with a good mechanical/manufacturing engineering understanding.
Key Responsibilities
It is expected that responsibilities will include but not be exclusive of any other role requirements:
* Using Inventor / AutoCAD to produce accurate engineering drawings for manufacture / production.
* Working with internal and external teams to provide engineering design support for sales, manufacture and installation.
* Designing & detailing fabrications for manufacture, assembly and installation (e.g. conveyor chains, sprockets, sheet metal fabrications).
* Possible opportunity to visit sites to collect data for drawing production.
* Use of 3D scanner to aid in draughting more complicated products.
Desired Skills & Experience
* Experience of using 3D CAD software. Autodesk Inventor being advantageous, although not essential.
* General knowledge of mechanical handling/engineering principles.
* Understanding of design for manufacture.
* Metallurgical understanding covering materials and heat treatments.
* Ability to reverse engineer customer samples and/or data collected from customer sites.
* Experience of using calibrated measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometers etc.
* A background or experience in the materials handling industry is preferable but not essential.
* Knowledge and experience in using 3D scanner is preferable but not essential.
* Ability to manage relationships.
* Demonstrate adequate experience with MS Excel, Word and Outlook to fulfil the role.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage a number of different projects/tasks at any one time.
* Highly motivated, with a pro-active approach to workload.
* Confident and determined approach.
* Methodical and accurate with a good attention to detail.
* Happy to at times work to strictly deadlines and able plan work according to timescales.
* Can work alone and use initiative but also a team player who can help and support others.

Responsible for ensuring all manufacturing is conducted within the dictates of ISO 9001 to the latest standard to ensure quality objectives are monitored and maintained.
