We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our research team as a senior psychometric researcher supporting AlphaPlus projects, leading certain whole projects and parts of larger projects. The postholder will provide high quality psychometric outputs as part of AlphaPlus’s educational research and consultancy services.
The senior psychometric researcher will be a specialist in the technical area of assessment statistics, with experience of delivering assessment research work in education, ideally in an awarding organisation or other assessment organisation. Working within the quantitative research team, and as a line report to the director of quantitative research, the post-holder will provide high quality psychometric outputs as part of AlphaPlus’s educational research and consultancy services.
Eligible applicants will possess a master's degree or equivalent experience in a related area, and possess strong project management skills. They will be commercially aware, able to create opportunities and participate in activities to generate new business.
They must also have professional experience as a psychometrician/statistician or assessment researcher, ideally in an awarding or other assessment organisation or educational institution, and a proven track record of delivering high level research projects/outputs, preferably assessment research.
The position is permanent, full-time working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and is Manchester office-based. The successful candidate is expected to reside within/relocate to commuting distance from the office. A relocation package is offered if required.
Job share/other flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate(s). Any such preferences should be indicated at the early application stage and can be discussed further at interview. The company offers hybrid working (two days per week minimum in the office, with three days working at home). The exact allocation of office-based days is decided by the appointee's manager, although flexibility remains our policy and approach.
The role may occasionally involve some national travel, working in company and customer offices, with the possibility of international travel.
