Principal Duties and Areas of Responsibility:
1. Clinical Correspondence & Support to Clinical Services: Typing/proofreading clinical correspondence relating to outpatient and inpatient attendances and other patient-related correspondence on behalf of the consultant and clinical teams.
2. Use a range of IT skills to support the clinical work of the consultant, e.g., use of databases and spreadsheets to monitor waiting lists.
3. Support administrative processes as deemed appropriate by the PSC.
4. Provide a full clerical support service to the Department including organizing, sorting, and filing documents and papers; dealing with incoming and outgoing paper and electronic post as required.
5. Answer phone calls and deal with inquiries relating to patients and clinical work from a variety of sources, directly resolving where possible or transferring to appropriate personnel.
6. Liaise with GPs and other hospital staff to provide the best patient care.
