Your Role as an Art Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Art lessons tailored to students with SEN. Support students in expressing themselves through art, using a variety of mediums and techniques to enhance their creativity. Develop a nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, confident, and encouraged to explore their artistic talents. Work alongside the SENCO and teaching assistants to support students with individual needs, ensuring all students can access the curriculum. Track and assess students’ progress in the arts, adapting teaching methods to meet their needs and celebrate their achievements. Build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers to ensure a collaborative approach to learning. Encourage the development of students’ social, emotional, and cognitive skills through creative expression. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Art or Creative Arts specialism preferred. ✅ Experience teaching Art at secondary level, ideally in an SEN setting. ✅ A creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching students with diverse needs. ✅ Knowledge of differentiated teaching, SEN best practices, and strategies for supporting students with a range of learning difficulties. ✅ Strong communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team. ✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
