About The Role
Selwood are looking to welcome a Warehouse Team Leader to manage our stores operation and teams to ensure our range of Selwood products are managed timely and efficiently and available to support our manufacturing operations.
As Warehouse Team Leader, you'll be a confident self-starter, with proven knowledge of working within a warehouse, managing teams, and have a drive to be part of continuous improvements.
Key areas of responsibilities for the Warehouse Team Leader:
* Manage all warehouse processes and activities working closely with support departments Production, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing and Sales to ensure the agreed budgeted plan is executed and delivered on time and in full.
* Line management of 12 individuals.
* Ensure manufacturing have appropriate levels of material to maintain production plans.
* Supervise, evaluate and develop performance of Warehouse personnel against required skill sets and targets to create an enthusiastic and flexible workforce.
* Manage, motivate and develop a team employed to carry out warehouse, dispatch, and goods receiving activities.
* Support the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager with development and implementation of strategy.
* Contribute to the implementation of the business unit vision, strategy, policies & processes.
* Maintain and develop hygienic and safe working conditions and practices for the warehouse environment.
* Liaise with Pump Sales & Manufacturing managers to understand objectives and requirements in the Warehouse.
* Estimate costs and prepare and manage all warehouse CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
* Implement best practice and continuous improvement activities in a Warehouse environment utilising the relevant Lean, Six Sigma and 5S tools and working practices, or as directed by the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Relevant manufacturing/engineering/logistics degree is preferred, and/or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications in a subject appropriate to the role is preferred.
* Proven background in supervising a warehouse team, maximising quality, productivity and profitability and support driving sales and growth.
* Able to demonstrate strong management skills and the ability to develop, coach, motivate and engage a team.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Able to gauge the audience and tailor your communication style accordingly.
* Good understanding and experience of COSHH, IOSH, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ability to lead and demand a Health & Safety focused and quality lead culture within the department.
* Proven background in managing the implementation and control of warehousing processes to maximise sales and profitability through exceptional levels of efficiency and workmanship.
* Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and Teams).
* Strong understanding of Manufacturing Database/MRP Systems.
* Able to plan, scope projects, effectively allocate resources and monitor outputs to achieve goals and continuously improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
* Great problem-solving skills. Able to identify problems, consider relevant information and apply good judgement to make sound and timely decisions and take appropriate courses of action.
* Methodical, proactive, and forward-thinking with a strong attention to detail.
* Understanding of all SHEQ requirements to uphold high levels of safety adhering to all safety legislation, ensuring staff and visitors are kept safe.
