Job Purpose
Be seen as the sole owner of the assets and DMAs within a predefined geographical area, and will support the effective operation and maintenance of the network assets listed along with the delivery of the Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy (DOMS) for water network assets.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Conduct inspections and maintenance of water network assets, including service reservoirs, pumping stations, and pressure vessels, while ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. Support activities like mains flushing, confined space entry, and reservoir maintenance to maintain high operational standards.
* Provide assistance during incidents such as P1 leak response, water network risk assessments, and pollution reporting. Offer technical support for Pressure Management Valve issues, DG3 event validation, and water quality monitoring.
* Identify opportunities for improvement within the water network, conduct local investigations, undertake rezoning and DMA/DPA setups, and address illegal connections. Support strategic projects and ensure operational efficiency across all networks.
* Operate, optimise, and maintain critical equipment such as pumps, standby generators, and lifting devices. Support statutory testing for pressure vessels, adhere to regulatory standards, and manage New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) site setups.
* Play a key role in mentoring apprentices and training new staff. Assist in developing skills across the team, ensuring effective succession planning and knowledge-sharing within the organisation.
