Demonstrate expertise in CT and uphold high imaging standards. Assist the Cardiac lead to lead the Cardiac CT service, including beta-blocking, GTN administration, and image acquisition. Accurately interpret radiology referrals and position patients for diagnostic imaging. Review and ensure the quality of images, considering supplementary procedures. Conduct CT imaging following standards and protocols while prioritizing patient care. Maintain anatomical knowledge and use judgment in image interpretation. Master post-processing techniques, such as Heartflow specialist software. Manage Soliton & PACS information systems data. Control access within the CT area and assist in scheduling appointments. Deputize for the Lead CT Radiographer when needed. Participate in QA programs and communicate complex information to patients and colleagues. Prepare, cannulate, and administer intravenous drugs according to protocols. Train and supervise radiographers and students in CT. Manage adverse events during or after intravenous drug administration. Ensure CT standards are met and continue self-development in CT. Use ECG knowledge during gated investigations for procedural acquisition and patient safety. Undergo annual appraisal and work towards agreed objectives. Understand CT radiation protection and report equipment issues to the Lead CT Radiographer. Compile audit and evaluation information and present at conferences. Assist in the day-to-day running of the CT department. Implement CT local rules and use ionizing radiation per regulations. Serve as a contact for imaging referrers and patient inquiries. Foster a learning environment and promote continuous learning. Vet and justify radiographic referrals as needed. Ensure safe use of medical devices and pressure injectors. Perform and manipulate raw imaging data for high-quality diagnostics. Operate advanced radiological software with precision. Dispose of clinical waste according to Trust policies. Enter electronic data accurately into the Radiology Information System. Transfer patient image files to the PACS system ensuring completeness and accuracy. Attend required statutory training and maintain safe systems of work in the CT environment. Participate in out-of-hours CT coverage when required.
