SEND Teaching Assistant required in Hereford

Do you hold a Level 3 NVQ certificate related to Education or equivalent? Have you provided 1-1 or small group SEND TA work before? Do you have experience supporting children who have SEMH?
TeacherActive work closely with a mainstream Secondary School in Hereford, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with SEMH and/or trauma backgrounds, to join them after them in March 2025. The school are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can support on a 1-1 basis for a minimum of 6 weeks. There is a potential for this to be extended.
The role will include:
Offering students additional support on a 1-1 basis
Supporting small groups of students
Supporting with diverse learning needs
Experience support secondary aged students who have SEMH and/or trauma backgrounds
Providing guidance and encouragement
Providing individualised and flexible support
Understanding and implementing behavioural management strategies
Helping create and maintain and positive working environment
Liaising with the class teacher and SENDCo, SLT, parent’s or carers when appropriate
Monitoring student's progress
Roles requirements:
At least 12 months experience supporting children in a school environment
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with students and staff
Excellent communication skills
Excellent behavioural management skills
Availability to work 8:30-3:30 term time
