We are an agile working organisation with a combination of office-based working and working from home (essential equipment is provided). We place a high premium on diversity and inclusion, as well as on health and wellbeing and we offer a flexible working scheme which is based on business need. We offer Continued Professional Development and will support you to develop your skills and career prospects within Children’s Services.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit a Team Administrator to support the Gloucester Children in Care teams. These teams work within Gloucestershire County Council’s Children’s Services, with a key focus on supporting our children in care. The role will also link in with and offer some support to our Leaving Care service, as required.
Your role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with the Team Manager, Social Workers and Family Support Workers, supporting them with a variety of administrative tasks, providing children and their families with the correct level of service.
Duties will include:
* Essential usage of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
* Monitoring a team inbox and processing a variety of tasks
* Regular data-inputting
* Participating in team meetings
* Answering and re-directing calls as necessary
* Attending regular meetings to log updates on Adoption, Fostering and Permanence
* Supporting with all finance requests (invoices, bank payments, coding slips)
* Administration of petty cash on a rota basis
* Uploading information to our bespoke database LCS LiquidLogic (training will be provided)
* Initiating paperwork and liaising with NHS to arrange health appointments for Children In Care
About You
We are looking for applicants who would like to join our Permanence Team, where the work is varied and interesting, no two days are the same! We would like applicants to have excellent ICT and communication skills and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach with an ability to manage your workload to meet deadlines. Previous experience working with finance is desired, but not essential. If you think that this is the role for you we look forward to hearing from you. Why are you perfect for this role and what will you bring to our team?
In return we will offer you:
* Regular formal and informal support.
* Safe, supportive, and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision.
* Access to relevant training and career progression.
* Annual leave of 25.5 days (pro rata) up to 30.5 days (pro rata) after 5 years employment.
* Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
* Staff discount scheme that offers access to great savings including discounts with major supermarket chains and high street retailers.
* Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone.
* Cycle to Work scheme.
* Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) network and the Young Employees Network.
* Gloucestershire Salary Sacrifice Green Car Scheme (T&C's apply).
Working in Children’s Social Care does require an applicant who can be proactive or responsive to changing demands and resilient to some of the tough emotional content of the role. However, it can also bring great reward and job satisfaction.
