We are working with a specialist civil engineering contractor with a focus on clean and wastewater infrastructure. They have secured several new projects based around the Hereford and Malvern area and as such have an opportunity for a Site Manager to join their team. Initially, you will manage a rising main and pumping station and be responsible for managing site operations, coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving the project to completion within specified timelines and budgets. Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project managers and engineers.
2. Coordinate with design teams to ensure alignment between project plans and technical specifications.
3. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to procure necessary materials and equipment.
4. Oversee day-to-day operations at the construction site, including scheduling of work activities, resource allocation, and workflow coordination.
5. Supervise site personnel, including subcontractors and laborers, to ensure adherence to project requirements and safety protocols.
6. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
8. Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards.
9. Conduct inspections and quality audits to verify compliance.
10. Promote a culture of safety on the construction site by enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety briefings, and providing appropriate training to personnel.
11. Identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks associated with construction activities, ensuring a safe working environment for all stakeholders.
12. Monitor environmental impact and implement measures to minimize disruption and mitigate any adverse effects on the surrounding area.
13. Act as a point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, project managers, regulatory authorities, and community representatives.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
2. Proven experience in civil engineering projects.
3. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
4. Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to construction sites.
